Characteristics
Our Red Popcorn pops into a healthy, crunchy snack that has a beautiful red color due to the presence of natural pigments called anthocyanins. This variety of popcorn also has fewer hulls and medium-sized kernels.

While our uniquely-colored popcorn kernel varieties(Midnight Blue, RedPurpleBlue, Rainbow) have a colored kernel, they will be white or yellow once popped. For popped popcorn to be colored, the kernels need to be dyed beforehand, and we do not use dyes or preservatives.

Compared to Other Popcorn
Red Popcorn is very similar to the other varieties of uniquely colored popcorn kernels and has a sweeter and nuttier flavor than traditional White or Yellow Popcorn.

Popping Tips
Like our other “colorful” varieties, Red Popcorn has a unique sweet, nutty flavor and pairs well with our seasonings. It has good popability, produces large fluffy kernels, and can be popped using all of the traditional methods of popcorn popping, such as air popping, stove-top popping, and microwave popping.

    Red Popcorn!!

Posted by cynthia l barnard on Apr 28th 2020

I just received my 6 pound bag actually it was 5 lbs. 14 oz., just a little short. However the popcorn is outstanding and I’m getting ready to order another couple of 6 pound bags to give us gifts to my family during this crazy pandemic time. Eating a lot of popcorn as it’s so nutritious but this is the best I’ve had in my whole life. As I get older I have to worry about the holes and cracking my teeth on the old maids, not gonna happen with this popcorn—Hooray!

Smaller funky popped corn, but love that there are very few hulls. The taste is also very good. Never knew there was a difference in taste of popcorn and how good I’d could be (even unsalted/buttered/not cooked in oil) till I met Amish Country.

    Much Better than Blue

Posted by A Brown on Sep 30th 2018

After reading the other less than stellar reviews I find their reviews what I would say about the Blue. I liked this Red just fine but will defer to the Purple from now on. Very Good, good pop, few hulls remaining and great flavor. Add Flavacol to any popcorn and it's awesome!
