Characteristics
Mushroom Popcorn is unique because it pops into a circular or mushroom shape as opposed to the more common butterfly shape and is larger and crunchier than our other varieties. Mushroom popcorn is perfect for fun recipes like caramel corn and pairs well with our spices and glazes.

It pops in a mushroom shape because of its unique design. As the moisture inside the kernel turns into steam during the popping process, the hull of the mushroom popcorn stays intact, causing the kernel to expand out of one side into a round mushroom shape.

Compared to Other Popcorn
This popcorn is not hulless like our Baby WhiteMedium White, and Ladyfinger varieties. It does not have as much flavor as its counterparts, but it is perfect for coatings, glazes, or seasonings.

Popping Tips
To achieve its recognizable shape, Mushroom Popcorn should be popped at a higher temperature, but can be popped using traditional popping methods. This creates more mushroom-shaped kernels and leaves less un-popped corn.

Love this popcorn for making Carmel corn! A nice big kernel that hugs the Carmel.

    Best Popcorn Ever!

This is my favorite popcorn, big and puffy, really meaty and super delicious. I really like all their products, but this one is the best!

    Big for an air popper

Posted by Thomas Rathburn on Dec 30th 2016

I use an air popper. The mushroom kernels are so big and heavy that they restrict the popper hot air circulation and will char the corn unless you shake the air popper while it's running. The resulting popcorn is BIG and tastes OK. It would be much better in oil.

Love this popcorn! Outside gets a little crunchy and inside is fluffy. Works great in all my different types of popcorn makers.
