Characteristics
Our Midnight Blue Popcorn is hulless, meaning it has a very thin outer kernel coating that is less likely to get stuck in your teeth. It is known and loved for its sweet, memorable flavor. This variety has its own delicious flavor but also pairs well with our seasonings.

While our uniquely-colored popcorn varieties(Midnight Blue, RedPurpleBlue, Rainbow) have a colored kernel, they will be white or yellow once popped. For popped popcorn to be colored, the kernels need to be dyed beforehand, and we do not use dyes or preservatives.

Compared to Other Popcorn
Blue Popcorn, while different in color than White or Yellow Popcorn, produces popped popcorn with a very traditional look. The Midnight Blue Hulless Popcorn has its own unique flavor that is the favorite of many and is complimented well by salt and butter.

Popping Tips
Hulless popcorn generally pops easily and produces a fluffy end product. While it doesn’t have as much of a traditional popcorn crunch, the texture of hulless popcorn is melt-in-you-mouth delectable. For best results, this corn should be popped at a higher temperature.

A Nice Choice but NOT the BEST Amish CountryVariety

Posted by LaDonna Wiley on Dec 30th 2020

I've now tried several varieties of Amish Country popcorn and this Midnight Blue is a fun choice that my kids like. It seems to have a slight bluish tint when it is popped up and compared to the other Amish Country varieties. It has a nice taste and isn't too chewy but my personal preference is the Baby White, which I think offers a wonderful taste AND a pleasant, soft texture that is less chewy than this Midnight variety. Oh, I also don't think the higher price tag for this Midnight variety is justified in comparison to the Baby White.

    Delicious, Tender

Posted by Joe Richter on Feb 11th 2019

My wife is a popcorn gourmet. This is her favorite. She pops it slow, by letting the seeds "simmer" in hot oil on low until they can't stand it any more and start popping. Then she turns it up high to finish it. Result is a nutty, roasted flavor added to an already wonderful popcorn. If you like "Black Jewel," you may just like this one better. We order it 18 lbs (3 x 6lb bags) at a time. Excellent.

    Midnight blue is for you!

Pops completely, great taste, and since bc everything pops, its a great value too! Rainbow Ladyfinger is my absolute favorite, but Midnight Blue is the a very close second in my opinion. You will not be disappointed!

    Midnight Blue Popcorn

Posted by Mary Ann Russell on Jul 16th 2018

Midnight Blue popcorn is quite simply the best popcorn I've ever eaten. As a popcorn aficionado who owns three different types of popcorn poppers, as well as a good old fashioned pot on the stove, I truly enjoy popcorn. Blue Midnight popcorn is a little bit more expensive than the other varieties but it's well worth the few extra cents. I cook it in canola oil wit truffle salt & top it with butter for a heavenly batch of popcorn.
