Characteristics
The Purple Popcorn is known for its vibrant purple unpopped kernels. It has fewer hulls and a unique taste specific to Purple Popcorn that is enjoyed by many. When popped, the kernels are small with a texture combination or soft and crunchy, providing a well-rounded popcorn experience.

While our uniquely-colored popcorn kernel varieties(Midnight Blue, RedPurpleBlue, Rainbow) have a colored kernel, they will be white or yellow once popped. For popped popcorn to be colored, the kernels need to be dyed beforehand, and we do not use dyes or preservatives.

Compared to Other Popcorn
Red Popcorn, like many other popcorn varieties, contains fiber, making it a healthy and nutritious snack. It is a less common and gourmet experience compared to Yellow and White Popcorn.

Popping Tips
For best results, Purple Popcorn should be popped using stovetop or microwave popping methods. The kernels expand rapidly during popping and produce a large and fluffy popped kernel. Try it with salt and butter, or the seasonings we offer in our store.

We prefer hullless but tried this and like it!

Posted by Lois Meyer on Oct 9th 2020

We eat popcorn almost every night. We prefer hullless so we ordered Blue, Purple (advertised as fewer hulls), and Med White. We really like this Purple and have just ordered more. It pops up really nice and tastes good and as advertised there are very few hulls. We recommend!

    Purple Popcorn

The hulls are soft. Taste better than the bigger popping varieties, plus it tops the scales in antioxidants. I’ll either air pop it or as an alternative, use the whirly pop to pop half of it and then air pop the rest. For me, that’s just the right amount of fat.

    Purple Popcorn

We LOVE this popcorn! I've tried several varieties, which are all good, but always come back to purple! :) My husband and I make it nearly every night for our bedtime snack. There is NO WAY I could go back to buying regular popcorn from a local grocery store. I highly recommend trying it, you won't be disappointed.

    The Best!

I like this the best over Red and Blue (in that order). Haven't tried the yellow yet (won't try the white). The Purple pops full and every kernel popped. Great flavor and large enough. Add a little Flavocol and you've got movie theater quality - (I also use a Whirley Pop popper with Coconut oil).
